Customising your towing rope system to your needs

Synthetic fibre

We offer towing system components in various synthetic fibres depending on the equipment used and the type of operating environment of the tug.

Pendants

Pendants are used in the closed chocks of the towed ship and need to be abrasion resistant and easily replaceable.

Our pendants are produced in Dyneema® fibre to increase lightness of handling. The first metres of the pendant have a loose cover to increase the abrasion resistance in the chocks.

Mainlines

Mainlines are the strength of the towing system. They need to be strong, yet light and easy to handle.

We offer various custom-made solutions in different synthetic fibres depending on the equipment of the vessel and the operating environment of the tug.

Stretchers

Stretches have higher elongation than the mainline.

They can be added to the towing solution to provide shock absorption within the system. Stretchers can be positioned on different locations in the towing configuration. Our stretchers are custom-made.

Tried and tested for your peace of mind

BEXCO’s ropes have stood the test of time in some of the world’s harshest marine environments. However, we don’t see that as your only guarantee of safety and performance. We also rigorously and comprehensively test all our synthetic rope constructions in different configurations. These include break load testing, stiffness and fatigue testing, influence of twist and small D/d ratios. The test facility can be used for proof loading and length verification.
