Dragline Ropes

Bridon® dragline ropes provide an exceptionally extended service life. We supply ropes for the largest draglines in open-cast mines worldwide.

Our dragline ropes offer durability, high strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance, reducing equipment downtime. We also offer hoist ropes with plastic coating to optimize durability, protect the drum, and maintain lubrication.

Bekaert’s TUFF 8 mining ropes offer effective solutions to one of the most demanding rope applications in the mining industry. Manufactured with class leading machinery at our Newcastle ropery, TUFF 8 ropes are recommended for use in dragline applications and are designed to withstand the pressure placed on them by mining equipment.

Bekaert Australia’s high performance, cushion core, 6 or 8 strand wire rope. The plastic coated core provides a cushioning effect preventing internal wire breaks, thus reducing the effects of loopy wires. Suited to draglines running high RSL’s and in tough digging conditions.
Spiral Strand

Spiral Strand

A spiral strand is a composite of multiple layers of helically twisted steel wires. Layers are spun in opposite directions providing constructional and torque stability. The use of high strength steel wires makes it a good candidate as tension member in static applications. Our proprietary Bekaert blocking compound fills the cable on the inside, reducing the impact of steel-steel contact, and adding an additional barrier against corrosion.
